why cant some people just accept that this world is random and no one (supernatural being(s)) has control over it???
is it too scary of a thought that you wont even try to think of it???

Nobody says that people with some sort of spirituality or religion hates science. I am a Christian and I love science. Science gives me this computer I am on right now, video games, movies, and so many other things. I just don't believe in some scientific theories.
The reason I love studying science though is because I am frequently amazed by what God has created.

Just about everyone is born with a strong hate for science. The moment almost every child enters their science class for the first time they are frightened by all of the creepy looking formulas written on the blackboard and the walls. It's natural, just accept it....
Seriously, I'm a Christian and I don't hate science at all. I love the way it proves that God truly is at work in our lives in every way. If you want you can check out this website that has a lot of scientific evidence proving that.
Take care, and beware of acid...

What makes you think that "this world is random and no one has control over it" is what science teaches?
It's interesting -- the people most likely to believe (falsely) in this "religion vs. science" thing are the "science champions."
Most people of faith don't have any beef with science. Most of us think science is a wonderful thing.
That is, after all, why Catholic schools -- from elementary school all the way through college -- have science classes!

It's not that I hate science....it's just that I can't learn everything about every scientific theory ever known to mankind. I don't think anyone really can for that matter.
So....I choose to believe that science is very useful and needed in our world....however it doesn't replace the spiritual energy that I believe exists in relation to the spiritual energy of the Creator.
Or can someone give me a "quick course" in the science of spiritual energy? (I'm sure the answer is yes).....if it convinces me....I'm sure I'll have another question to ask about that too.
Peace!

First, why should we accept your way. Why don't you accept our way!
Random. Good luck.
OK if you're such a RANDOMIST, wait for Nature to Randomly make your new car, instead of getting one from a CREATIONIST.
Instead of going to a doctor when you're sick, let RANDOM FATE and NATURAL SELECTION cure you.
Please tell us why NATURE hasn't RANDOMLY EVOLUTIONIZED the Appendix and got rid of it.
It is some conspiracy to make Surgeons $10,000 to remove that poisonous thing when it ruptures.
If you believe in randomess, then instead of buying an XBOX from a CREATIONIST who WILLFULLY and INTENTIONALLY put one together, why not buy some parts at Radio Shack, put them in a box and shake them up until you RANDOMLY get an XBOX.
I mean THAT IS HOW YOU SAY WE GOT TO BE HERE and we are a lot more complicated to make than an XBOX.

It’s not that it’s a scary thought, but some of us know there is a God. We have seen too much evidence in our own lives. This has nothing to do with any disrespect for science. I’m all for science.
Faith and science are two completely different things.

I'm quite a religious person who deals with science.
I designed test equipment that was used to calibrate sensors for airbags on automobiles. I designed test equipment to test and calibrate watthour meters.
As an engineer, I worked with science and mathematics daily. I see no contradiction between science and faith. Then again, I'm not a fundamentalist Christian, but a Pagan. In my world, Science and faith fit together quite nicely.
