It is hard to answer this, as you did not say how old you are. But in any case, 2 days is too short of a time to get to know someone, especially over the internet.
If you are a mature adult or at least 21 years old, and you use wisdom, after talking to him for a couple of months or so, I think it would be okay. Make sure you make arrangements to meet him during the day at a public place, like a diner, pizza place, etc. Tell family and friends where you are and what time. You may want to take a friend along. If he is a mature guy with nothing to hide, he will understand and not mind your friend being there. Also, it gives your friend a chance to, objectively, get some vibes from him. Your friend may hear and see something that you are too blind to see.
If things go well on the first meeting, make plans to go out with other couples, dinner, movies, bowling, a club, etc. See how he interacts with you and with your friends. See if any of your friends see red flags. (Or if you start to see some red flags)
When you feel ready to finally go out with him alone, DO NOT go to his house and DO NOT let him know where you live. Make it a public place. I know this all sounds paranoid, but you have to be overly cautious to be safe. Not everyone on the internet is honest and trustworthy. Please be safe!

Meet in a public place, or bring a friend. Do it soon after you met over the Internets. The idea is to get it into the real world as soon as possible, otherwise it's not real and you start "projecting" about who you think the person is. You gotta make it real soon after the Internet stuff.

There are many nuances that are lost on the Internets and on the telephone. We have a lot of unconscious stuff that comes into play when we are judging people for romantic relationships. We are not aware of a lot of this stuff, it has to do with our past family history, our past relationship partners, and the characteristics we feel are desirable right now. That's why it's important to meet soon in person - because you can't know any of this until you meet.

My personal feeling is that Internet romances have less than a 50/50 chance of working out. Just my copper coinage.

I have met quite a few people from the internet, just make sure that when you do meet for the first couple of times to do it in a public place where if anything does go wrong you have people around you to help. Don't go anywhere alone with this person untill you've met them in public a few times.

No, not as long as you are careful. Don't let him pick you up and don't go to his house. Meet in a public place during the day where you feel comfortable. Have a set time frame for meeting - say you have to meet friends in an hour. Have a friend call you and if something is not going right - have a code word to say to le them know. Don't invite them back to your place or go to theirs.

Online dating is different so you have to take more precautions but if you are safe, it is safe.

I think it is okay to continue texting and emailing this guy still. However, take some time to get to know this person a little bit more before you meet him in person, especially if you are under age. Tell someone about this, someone that you really trust so that you can have someone else knowing what you are up to, just for safety reasons.

2 days? don't do it. in fact don't do it at all. unless you're meeting in a very public place. how old are you? consider the possibility that he is nothing like what he says he is. he could be ancient, obese, a nazi, a pervert.. if you do decide to go meet him, take a friend or inform a couple of people exactly where you're going and when you'll be back.

No , but some people lie about who they really are so have an escape plan ready like have a friend call you 10 to 15 min. in the date and if you don't like him say i have to go something came up. don't let him pick u up you both drive your own vehicles and don't tell him where you live. or tell him that you would feel more comfortable if your girlfriend came along and he bring one of his friends. but go for it an good luck

Uh...yea...you've talked to this guy for 2 days..meeting him could possibly end up a disaster, a very dangerous disaster.

if you insist on meeting him, use your brain, have it be somewhere public and make sure someone else knows where you'll be and such, just in case the worse should happen

Just be very careful. I met someone over the internet and found out he was a scammer. Watch for his spelling of words, and what he says. They are very smooth talkers and they will tell you they think they are falling in love with you. Then all of a sudden he is asking you for money. Try to find out where he is from. Please be very careful. I fell in love with this guy. Now I am in a support group to help me get over him. Please be very careful. One thing they don't do is they say i inside of I cos instead of because. Wish I could help you more. I could tell you more. Please be very careful.

Actually it wasn't a bad idea though. It just that you can't know how's a person really like in just 2 days. But here's my advice, take it slowwww... Don't rush into things like this..
