when will the "head in the clouds" side come down and talk seriously, that's the better question, i guess you don't have to be concerned with the environment when there Will be a new heaven and a new earth eventually, i really don't mean to be critical, but this whole ideology is irresponsible

"The question about the origins of the world and of man has been the object of many scientific studies which have splendidly enriched our knowledge of the age and dimensions of the cosmos, the development of life-forms and the appearance of man. These discoveries invite us to even greater admiration for the greatness of the Creator, prompting us to give him thanks for all his works and for the understanding and wisdom he gives to scholars and researchers"

"no real disagreement can exist between the theologian and the scientist provided each keeps within his own limits. . . . If nevertheless there is a disagreement . . . it should be remembered that the sacred writers, or more truly ‘the Spirit of God who spoke through them, did not wish to teach men such truths (as the inner structure of visible objects) which do not help anyone to salvation’; and that, for this reason, rather than trying to provide a scientific exposition of nature, they sometimes describe and treat these matters either in a somewhat figurative language or as the common manner of speech those times required, and indeed still requires nowadays in everyday life, even amongst most learned people"

"Methodical research in all branches of knowledge, provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things the of the faith derive from the same God. The humble and persevering investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are" (CCC 159). The Catholic Church has no fear of science or scientific discovery.

In other words, "TRUTH CANNOT CONTRADICT TRUTH"

Go to the Library and get a copy of the Celestine Prophecies, or if you are in a hurry, go to Blockbuster and get the movie. This is a wonderful piece of liturature that shows how Creation without evolution is not possible, and evolution without creation is not likely either. It is a combination of the two. God(ess)(s) created simple human, and we have evolved from the initial creation to what we have become. The only question is, since evolution is an on going process, what and where will we be next?

So, do you want your faith to be blind?? I hope you'll retain a healthy amount of curiosity. No scientist is out there to disprove the bible. If scientists find something that proves the bible is correct, of course they will research it and publish it. BUT, the search for the truth is noble.
You can be a Christian and believe in evolution. When I was a Christian, I did. You may be simply too fundamental of your understanding of the bible.

It can't really be proved wrong using faith. Faith is faith and fact is fact. If faith was fact then everybody would believe it. You can't prove creationism right and evolution wrong using the Bible.

You can make the fact right with your beliefs by understanding that maybe G-d gave the story of Adam and Eve as a metaphor...

At least, that's the Jewish opinion.

Yes. I believed it for years as well because I was taught it in school. Then I came to the realization that it was Satan's biggest lie. I got a lot of answers from the following links.

evolution happened. since you are a "messianic jew" maybe you should take the view of orthodox rabbi samson hirsch:

"This will never change, not even if the latest scientific notion that the genesis of all the multitudes of organic forms on earth can be traced back to one single, most primitive, primeval form of life should ever appear to be anything more than what it is today, a vague hypothesis still unsupported by fact. Even if this notion were ever to gain complete acceptance by the scientific world, Jewish thought, unlike the reasoning of the high priest of that notion, would nonetheless never summon us to revere a still extant representative of this primal form as the supposed ancestor of us all. Rather, Judaism in that case would call upon its adherents to give even greater reverence than ever before to the one, sole God Who, in His boundless creative wisdom and eternal omnipotence, needed to bring into existence no more than one single, amorphous nucleus and one single law of "adaptation and heredity" in order to bring forth, from what seemed chaos but was in fact a very definite order, the infinite variety of species we know today, each with its unique characteristics that sets it apart from all other creatures. (Collected Writings, vol. 7 pp. 263-264)"

accept evolution, stop trying to debunk it, and find beauty in G-d's world.

Dr. Kent Hovind at :"dr.dino.com"(I think) he consistantly beats out evolution-promoters in debates...He has a series of videos that you can buy and reproduce with his permission (to get the message out)

Just stick with the Creationists and lie about the facts. It's easier to deny the truth than learn it.
