What? No, 15 is not even near the legal drinking age in any state. However, it is okay for a minor to drink by a parent's consent.

Although I agree, no is the best answer, kids do push the envelope allot these days. If you know about it, that's a good thing. Would I be correct to guess this would be happening with you and her mother there? That's kind of what I think you're implying. When I was a pup, I started drinking at 16. Way to young. I wasn't mature enough to handle it and it got way out of hand. But I didn't have parents to look over me while I was doing it. Take caution. If you say no, she'll be more inclined to do it anyway outside of the home. Difficult call. Glad I'm not a Dad...yet.

I think it is perfectly fine as long as it is done in moderation. I am a 15 year old turning 16 in a couple of days and I hang out with a crowd that drinks when they go out. I think drinking is ok because there is a lot worst out there. The drinking age here is 19

I am not being disrespectful of you, but why would you even have to ask such a question? It's a crazy world out there. Every child needs to keep their wits about them to prevent unhappy circumstances - rape, pregnancy, car accidents and other stupid human tricks. If her friends are drinking at 15, she needs new friends.Using Natalie Holloway as an example, your child could disappear into the night and you may never see her again. Keep her safe and away from alcohol.

Well I started drinking at 15 and I turned out just fine!
I don't know if you're UK or US based, the situations are very different, in America it's certainly more taboo to drink that young. This makes it more "exciting" though. A lot of college kids, away from home for the first time and suddenly able to party freely, die from alcohol poisoning cuz they just embrace their newfound freedom way too hard... I honestly think that allowing them to drink in moderation earlier, and not making a big deal so it doesn't feel rebellious to them, can help stop them from getting so darn excited about it when they're no longer under your roof... I never really felt like drinking was a big deal, seeing as no one ever outright told me not to do it.
Educating her early about how to manage herself when drinking is much more important than trying to tell her not to drink at all (pointless- if she wants to, she will)- you can focus on what she should not to when she does drink- drive, hook up with guys she doesn't know, seperate herself from her friends, etc. And she'll feel comfortable talking to you, asking for advice, and asking for your help if she ever gets in trouble. (for example, being stranded at a party with a drink designated driver is a common dilemma, for example, and no one ever wants to call their mom cuz they might notice they've had a couple drinks... what happens then?)
Good luck!

I don't think it is right. First it is against the law, in my state of Mo. parents can also be prosecuted for giving to kids, whether its from sponsoring a party where alcohol is or just giving it to a minor, including their own child. The kids are still going to go out and party but I feel the parent shouldn't encourage or support it in anyway.

It can be very dangerous for a 15 year old to consume alcohol. This should not be allowed.

although it isn't legal, would you rather your daughter have a couple drinks with friends, or smoke a joint or smoke meth?
If you are adamantly against her drinking, she IS going to do it anyway and behind your back. She WILL start a rebellious attitude and try other things that are taboo.
But if you make her feel as though she can talk to you about these issues without you going ballistic, you will have much better luck.....Trust me, you can ask my mother!
