For the love of God, don't tell me that I have to write one myself. I'm not a lazy guy, but God didn't give me good poem writing skills (I only like poems that rhyme real well, that's why). There are some requirements, if you please.
1. It should rhyme or be beautiful in some way.
2. No ye olde English. Something someone can understand.
3. It's for my girlfriend, so nothing about "waking up to our kids" or something
4. Or you can give me some pointers in choosing a poem/writing one

I've met an angel, for whom I would give my life

To take the pain, and forget about the price

She brings me peace, known but to a few

A love so strong, a love thats new

She wears her tears, as her story is told

A voice so sweet, I cherish the sound

To him I pray, let me always be around

They say to look, for someone who loves

To see her live, she flies like a dove

My thoughts are nothing, without her face

I'm with you now, my heart I place

The end
(C)

I hope its good enough for you, had to change a few words..wish you both well.

It was extremely well written. But, I would have to say that some punctuation is needed. As a fellow writer of poetry I to have a punctuation problem. I usually use to much, but I'm teaching myself where it is needed. For your poem I would insert some as follows: Are those flowers on the path ahead Sucking the water from mondays rain Living off of yesterdays sorrow? (<--- here) They bloom red. (<---- here) Is that the sun (a comma could go here after sun or...) Hung optimistically above (...after above, but not both) Replacing clouds with light Drying puddles and tears? (<---here) Life is renewed. (<---here) And though the trees have burned away The green buds have fought to survive Replacing old life with new. I understand a writers style, and I am sorry if you take this too harsh. but, to even it out, your over all poem was phenomenal. Great word choice, flow, expression, and feel. Mail me some time and we can talk more about poetry. (=^_^=)

1.If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

2.Your lips speak soft sweetness
Your touch a cool caress
I am lost in your magic
My heart beats within your chest

I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night
I think of your arms being around me
And cannot express my delight

Never have I fallen
But I am quickly on my way
You hold a heart in your hands
That has never before been given away

there ya go! :D

If you can't write a love poem quit trying to make your girl think that you can. Stop being cheap and buy your girl something, or if you're truly not lazy make/cook her something.

Love songs are awesome- maybe one by John Mayer, like "Only Heart" or "Daughters" (which might not be exactly what you're looking for...)

I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out. -Elizabeth Barret Browning
