If you argue that a current well established theory is “only a theory”, as if this were somehow a point against it.

Regardless of how well established a theory is, until science can back it up, it is still a theory. Just because someone has pointed out that it is only a theory does not mean they are a crackpot - regardless of how fond you are of the well established theory. If you are looking to sway someone's way of thinking by using a well established theory rather than full fact, take the emotional verbiage like crackpot out of your vocabulary. Stick to more rational and logical language. You'll improve your chances of moving their mind if you come across as the more objective one.

Yes! Absolutely!

I believe that some of the current well established theories will be proven false eventually by some of our future well-established theories.

Just as it has been for many of our past theories that did not last the test of time.

It does not mean that all current theories will be dis-proven....many theories will eventually be proven to be facts. As it has always been.

I could be a crackpot! :)
