I'm a university student who is interested in this girl, who's a friend of a friend. The problem is that she just recently broke-up with her boyfriend (approx. 3 weeks ago) and apparently they were seeing each other for 3 years or so. I know nothing about the break-up, like whether she's hurt or if she broke it off with him...actually, i'm not even suppose to know that she's single. We hangout often with other friends and lately i've been receiving vibes that she's interested in me but I never make advances. I'm totally comfortable with asking her out...but is it too soon to do this?...especially since i'm not even suppose to know that she broke-up with her ex?

you just gotta feel it out. you should make a friendly gesture like "hey, i have an extra ticket to this concert and i need to find someone to go, wanna come?" make a few "friend" dates and i think after after a while it will be more clear if she's interested or not.

Usually, breaking up with someone after a long relationship is a difficult thing to deal with. If she seems upset by the breakup, that's your perfect opportunity to ask if her anything is bothering her and invite her to talk about it over coffee. Since you "don't know" about the breakup, she'll see you as a sweet person for noticing that something is wrong, and caring enough to see if she's okay.

If she's amenable to chatting over coffee as friends, she may be open to the idea of going out with you sometime on an actual date.

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!

I would ask her out but keep it simple. Like having coffee or lunch. When I broke up w/ my b/f after 5 yrs it took a while to get over it. Just so you know there is the possibility of you being just the rebound guy. So if you want more be careful

Don't do it now wait a little or someone will become suspicious that you know. THere are alot of harsh feelings going through her head. Let her settle back into the safe zone then ask her out. If asked now she will definitely say no since her heart was just broke.

It is a little too early. Wait for some more time and try to see how she acts with you. If you feel you are getting vibes over a period of time then go for it.

since she is a friend of a friend , then the friend would be able to tell you how she is taking the break up , if she is taking it really hard then give her some time to heal , when you see her just be friendly with her. As well as ask your friend if the girl likes you.

I'd keep it "friendly" for a while and wait it out. Three weeks is a little soon for dating after being with someone for three years.

hm. It probably is too soon. you don't want to be her rebound guy...the guy to get her ex off her mind. I would play it cool. Try to hang out with her as friends. Wait awhile until you find out how her break up went.
