Depends on the power of the fart (the pungency), the force it is expelled (determined by the decibels of the funny noise), the wind direction, the temperature, the thickness of your under garments (if any), the fart direction (could be down if sitting or vertical if standing or at 45º if holding feet - my preferred fart technique in forests), the density of the tree coverage, the type of tree (pine has that annoying toilet cleaner smell), and of course the location of the observer.
So on a clear day at 75ºC in an lightly forested oak forest, a diet of beans and cabbage, down wind, pants down and holding ankles, a nice loud fart should be smelt by lumberjacks - especially if you are hiding behind the tree they are working on.

Chances are you are going to smell it depending on the diretion of the wind, and what you may have eaten. The little animals and insects... and if you have anyone else along with you, becareful you may draw attention from some animal that may think that you are just what they are looking for for their next meal..

If you nose is not blocked, at least you will.
And theoretically, the gas will just dillute and be blown by the wind, mixing with the whole atmosphere, so eventually everyone on the planet will smell an imperceptible bit of it.

No one else may smell it, but the methane created will overheat the forest due to the greenhouse effect and create spontaneous combustion. You will die and nothing will remain to identify you. DON'T DO IT.

Unless someone is standing very close to you, the answer is no. The methane gas rises and will dissipate rather quickly in an open environment.
