Beware of false relatives.
Alternatively:
Beware of false parents.

In French "faux ami" is applied to words which sound similar in English and French but which have completely different meanings. "Faux frère" (literally "false brother") is applied to an untrue friend. I think that this expression is based on those general ideas, but is itself not a term of art in French.

It's probably 'Prenez garde aux parents faux' - Beware of false parents.
