it's admittedly an old study, but in 1987 Newsweek found that only 0.14% of life and earth scientists (i.e., the ones who would really know) subscribed to creationism.

So, you're wrong, it's not 99%, it's really closer to 99.9%

Although it's the majority of scientist that believe in evolution, it is nowhere near the 99% that you wrote. And more and more scientist are beginning to believe in creation.

Is it a conspiracy? For the most part, I would say no. Scientist look at certain facts, and from that they extrapolate theories. Evolution falls outside the bounds of science. It's something that can't be observed, tested, or reproduced in a laboratory. What scientist do in evolution, they come up with a theory, and proceed on faith.

If you want to see how accurate scientist are on the evolutionary theory, pick up a current text book, and one about 20-30 years old, and look at the differences. The evolutionary theory is always in a state of change, always looking for some missing links.

I really don't know where you got your info about 99% of scientists getting into creationism, because if you go to any scientist around the world, and you ask about the creation of life, they'll answer the question in a scientific manner, because in science, there is no religion or what so ever. There's always that belief about the big bang, and how that somehow created gases that turned into universes, and later made planets and suns. In the matter of life on earth, scientists believe that when the earth was being created, there were massive volcano eruptions, which created clouds, then rain in which earth got water and then life from tiny organisms that came from space. Got to wikipedia and search creationism, and you'll find a lot from that.

MONEY!

Although I believe your statistics are out, you are correct in stating that most scientists do not OPENLY question evolution.

Why not? MONEY! There is no money in 'intelligent design' and disproof of evolution raises many questions of morals, lifestyles, responsibilities and absolutes that many do not wish to address or even face.

Many will question evolution but only 'off the record'. They feel that they will loose credibility by asking the pertinent questions and so they hide.

Suggest you read the book "Monster" by Frank Peretti. An interesting insight into the "Evolution Industry". It is an industry worth billions of dollars each and every year. Worth protecting? NO - the cost is too great.

No, I don't say that natural sellection does not occure WITHIN a species, just that it doesn't occur BETWEEN species.

Sorry, but it's not a valid argument. Evolution is true, because it has valid proof.

Britney Spears sold 100,000,000 cd's, it doesn't make her a good singer.
The Bible has 2 billion followers world-wide, it doesn't make it a valid truth.
The same goes for the '99% of the scientists say it's true, therefor it's true' argument.

Evolution is true, because it's a very valid theory. Even if only one scientist believed in it, it wouldn't be less true.

Sometimes I feel science makes things complicated and avert you from the simplier things in life; (i.e. medication)

Let's talk about some of these doctors/scientists from all around the world that keep on "mysteriously" dying; now that's a conspiracy

There are many respectable people that are atheists but set out to find out whether or not there is a God. Tolkein, Lewis, Lee Strobel, just to name a few off the top of my head. But do check out Lee Strobel's The Case for the Creator.

You should've said something less than 99%. They're all going to focus on that part and dodge the rest of the question.

I don't agree with your statement. Lots scientists are Christians and I don't think there is any conspiracy.
