You will fine that a lot of people do that. It is a comfort thing, and it does work, and it really don't hurt anyone. The shaking of the feet , now doctors are doing studies on that they call it restless feet, and they think that is part of a sleeping disorder. I was in a sleep study, i guess the night i was there i did not shake my feet or rock, actually i thought i got a really good night sleep, but they found that i needed to wear a c-pak at night cause i quit breathing, every so many secounds for up to a few minutes, and it contiunes on.
But what you have asked here, no there is nothing wrong with rocking back and forth, to go to sleep or shaking your feet, i know a lot of people that do it, and it just helps you feel more comfortable . If you think it is more then that , then go and ask your doctor.

It's not abnormal. It's a way of soothing yourself.
All people have some sort of way to sooth theirselves.

Some rock, some shake their legs when they are crossed, some rub their fingers together........just little habits.

i do to its an anxiety disorder. but honestly everyone i know does. so is it normal i think so.as for meds i'd stay away they alter your moods and can cause more problems than cures. if it really bothers you try lunesta.
