it depends on the noise dear. maybe they are having great sex. Bythe way, if it disrupts you, you should try talking to them privately first. Be kind.

Is the noise disturbing you. Every night at midnight would seem disturbing because it is late. If you can hear the noise and you are a neighbour that must be pretty loud! It would not hurt to call the police, of course do not call the emergency just look up the Police non emergency in your phone book and call them and tell them what is happening, someone will come out in a few hours to do a domestic investigation I am sure. The police will keep your name/info confidential. Hope all is well and good luck

He is not supposed to making noise loud enough to hear into your living quarters. It is a violation of a city ordinance, and being midnight, yes you should call the police. When you call, use the regular police department phone number since it is not an emergency. Tell the desk officer that you are having a person that is disturbing you with a loud noise. He will take the information, and the individual will not know who made the complaint if you tell him you want to stay anonymous to the person.

I'd talk to my neighbor first letting them know I'm displeased. After all they are neighbors and neighbors should be able to talk to each other. I'd like to know why they feel the need to make noise at midnight before just calling the cops on them. If they continue on however then I'll call the police.

First, deal with the neighbours personally. If that doesn't work, tell the landlord if you live in an apartment complex. The police should then be called if the behaviour continues. Good luck.

If it woke up my child, I would. If it interrupts my family life, then he gets a call. Some people are disrespectful or just not aware of what they are doing. A friendly visit from the police will remind him.
Good luck, but remember to remain anonymous.

Depends on the noise. If you rent, contact the management company. If you own you can either talk to them face to face or call the police and tell them what's going on.

eI would confront the people in the am and see if they could keep it a bit quieter at mid night ,p erhaps some is working the 4to12 shift. Close your window if it continues,if then it doesn't work thencall the police.

Have you talked to your neighbor about the noise? A friendly "hey it's midnight, please keep it down" can go a long way.

I would talk to the building manager or caretaker if that doesn't work. They should go talk to the neighbor.

After leaving them a note or talking to them to let them know they are bothering you, and they still don't stop:

If you're in an apartment than report them to the landlord/super.

If you're in a house call your local non-emergency police number.
