My daughter has an older CRV and it's been great. No problems
at 130,000 miles other than regular maintenance. If you bring a dog or need to carry anything tall, this would be good. A Civic gets a bit better mileage. I really like Hondas & Acuras. They run well for ever with oil air filter changes. Plus they are safe.

I would get the crv. Both great cars! You will have lots more space in the crv. Gas shouldn't be too bad. A nd you will get a picnic table!

My first inclination was to tell you to buy a Volvo.....but....that they're an acquired taste.
I would have to say the Civic...Not only is it great looking, it is also great on gas, reliable and zippy.
The only downfall would be the cost to insure it. You may want to give your insurance agent a call to compare the costs between the two before making your decision.
How fun! Good luck to you...

VW's suck, they are as unreliable as american cars.....

If fuel economy is the ultimate concern, get the civic...
If you want to pretend like you need a sport ute, get the crv....

The redesigned cr v is very nice looking.

Nissan is a better car for the money, at least I think so. Had a Sentra, never gave me one iota of problem with anything.
