If you are baking them right after they are prepared you would have soaked the skewers in water to prevent them from burning. Now that they're already made I would just cover the skewers in foil. It should be fine that way, but don't stray too far from the kitchen in case there's smoke!

You would be wise to remove the satays from the bamboo skewers and put them on metal ones before you bake them. It's a little messy, but better than a possible oven fire.

If the skewers are wooden, remove them before baking to lessen the chance of fire in your oven.

Wooden skewers need to be soaked for about 30 minutes in water prior to grilling, baking, broiling, etc.

I've only ever grilled them. Maybe take it off the skewers? I don't think they'll burn without direct contact with flame or very high heat
