my two boxer dogs just got into a whole box of crab legs, they ate the claws ... should i call the vet?

I would, just to be safe. Those things are sharp and can damage their intestines. Hopefully they'll just poop them out, but the vet can check them and keep an eye on them so they don't have trouble later.

Don't panic. Chances are your boxers crunched up the claws before they swallowed, and even though, yes, the shell edges can be sharp, chances are the pieces are small enough to pass through the dog's digestive system without undue damage. Keep a sharp eye on the dogs for the next day or two. Press gently on their stomachs and notice if they show signs of discomfort. Keeping them penned and checking their bowel movements for any sign of blood wouldn't be over doing it. If it makes you feel better, call your vet. But chances are all he's going to suggest is close observation.

They ate the actual CLAWS? The exoskeleton part?!

Gods yes. There's a very good chance these dogs won't be able to pass those. I'm stunned they managed to get them down their throats without getting violently ill or choking.

Yes... call the vet. The shell could cut them during digestion. They will most likely need to be x-rayed. Could be expensive.

The others are probably correct in telling you to call the Vet. BUT I have had several Boxers in my life and I don't think there is anything on this planet that they CANNOT eat and digest it just fine................
