The unfortunate fact might be that he's just not into you. If you've made "advances", perhaps just being straight up and saying "I'm interested, are you?" will confirm either way. The dude could be shy also, so this could break the ice. It's a 50/50 risk, but one you might have to take to decide if you need to more on to someone that is into you. Much luck!

Ur being too subtle? Try something more direct like a nice, long, tight hug when you meet him or after he walks you to class. You could also spank/grab his a*s if ur confident he's got the hots 4 u

He's not your first love if he doesn't love you back. If you've been making it obvious you have feelings for him and he's not reciprocating? It means he doesn't like you that way. Leave it alone.
