You are very correct. I am also addicted to this site. Daily spend about 8-9 hours, though after reaching 7th level I was thinking to stop answering but I also failed.
Atleast for the sake of addicted persons Yahoo should think of changing some of the basic ideas of this site to make more interesting to the participants.
The answers should be informative and educative but I find more than 75% answers are just made to get the 2 points and the volume is hiked like anything.
I sincerely would suggest Yahoo to look into making the following changes, to start with-
1. Voting system should be abolished completely and asker should resolve the question or he should leave to Yahoo authorities to resolve it. This is would avoid BLASPHEMY. This is very important.
2. Yahoo should device a system to eliminate such unconnected answers and aswering the guide lines.
3. The community guidelines should be more strict.
4. Awarding points should be regularized. Just for answering 2 points is bad. Many people at the top have acquired the position due to this only. There should not be any point for just answering and voting. Only incase of good answers points should be given. They may Even think of imposing some fees for answering and at the same time award some REAL incentive for really worth and very good answers-

Friend, I have said that I soon will stop coming to this site, It may be forever or for a little while, When I feel like i may have helped one person, Then I am gone, 99% of this site is just like you said, In fact it has become more of a demonic site, & I know many will thumbs me down, Fine with me, Because no one on this site pay my bills or as a old saying goes, no one here butters my bread.

If I did not have to work I'd be on here all day. I find some sort of satisfaction in answering or asking questions that make people think. I think we are kind of addicted to thinking....

I agree it is a addicting, I just like to rile up the those crazy kooks, you know them as the evangelicals. I can't wait till the rest of us other christians just decide to leave them out in the cold. My friends were right when they said evangelism is a christian denomination that is good for the person that is a recovering addict, reformed con, or just down and out with their luck, it really does give them something to believe in and it makes life seem more bearable.

I'm addicted, but Yahoo sucks a**. WTF is with the "points" system anyway, Jesus. Yahoo really really sucks though, their search engine and email and everything. I wish there was a Google answers or MSN answers.
