I just use a paper towel

I have a very strict ritual about this since I worked in food service forever and saw a billion videos on how disgusting people can be.

First, I roll out some paper and leave it hanging from the dispenser. Then I turn on the water and soap up, making sure to really clean. Then I tear off the paper and dry my hands. I turn off the water with the papertowel. I open the door with the papertowel. Then I throw it away somewhere. I don't touch anything in a public bathroom after I wash my hands. Gross.

Allot of restrooms have a trash can right by the door. So I just take a paper towl and open the door and while holding the door with my body throw the paper towl away.

Yes! I thought I was the only one.
After living in a dormitory for 5 years, 1.5 of them a Resident Assistant, I know how disgusting the average dude is (of the college age).

Once I graduated and watched behaviors in the bathroom at work, it's a little different. I noticed that people that worked with me washed their hands nicely.
But we have a few construction contractors that work in the building as well... They do not wash their hands.

Do you think it's some sort of location based thing? Or do only the people that need to wear a tie to work have to wash their hands...

Paper towels will work. Or nothing. Door handles are usually made of metal and germs don't live very well on metal, so it's not a big deal.

You flush with your foot, after washing your hands you dry with towel, then use same towel to turn off faucet and open door to get out. I usually let towel ( accidentally ) drop as door closes.

If I do not use a tissue or my sleeve, I use the edge of my shirt. What is the point of washing your hands if you go over and touch that bacteria trap?
