I am 24 and live in a small suite in my parents house. I have a small bathroom off of a short hallway which leads straight into a living/entertainment room, and a bedroom off of the living area. I am wanting to redecorate, but I have no ideas. I like so many things. I like the soft colors, but I could just as easily go with bold and loud. Just looking for trendy ideas to make these three rooms work together. Please Help!

go to a fabric store and look for an inspiration piece......marry the rooms in some way shape or form, color or style...a small place will appear larger if its not all contrasty and dark colors make rooms feel intimate........find the inspiration piece

Soft blue and green, with chocolate brown accents (great alternative for bold, as chocolate still has a softness to it) are very new, contemporary color combinations.

For your living area: Nordic blue and chocolate brown as the primary colors in furniture, cushions and fabric. Orange is a great accent, use it to accessorize with pillows, throws, candles, etc.

Under lighting at Pier1.com, the lamps Teal Drum and Brushed Silver are very cool and trendy. I've always loved the youthful, feminine, lightness of Pier 1's furniture.

For something fun and unexpected look at the silver rattan spheres, and palm leaf fruit in the Floral & Wreaths section of Pier 1. Display a few in a wood, glass or silver bowl, or a tall glass vase. The Mica Wreath on the last page is a very cool way to add some texture and dimension to your walls.

For artwork, a quick Google search of 'trendy art' brought up the website: http://www.art.com under the category 'costume & fashion'. Sixties Girl by Colonel Moutarde and the Ghetup Gals collection by Dana Lee are my favorites there.

For your bedroom: Check out the Butler Bedding Collection from Target at the link below.

The bathroom is a place where you can have a lot of fun with color. Paint the walls a lime-green and get blue towels to tie in with the bedding.

Good luck and have lots and lots of fun!

Remember dark colors create a smaller look so if you must go bold, just use bold on an accent wall to prevent you from feeling claustrophobic!

Why not paint your bedroom a light pastel color like pink, lavendar or pale green?

Your living entertainment room could be done with neutral walls and then one bold accent color like a red-orange or a colbalt blue.
It would look sharp.

You could wallpaper the bathroom providing the wallpaper is a small print,or you could paint that as well.

You could also try the new painting techniques that add texture to your walls.

Have fun and good luck.

I myself would go with the soft flowing colors. white walls to make the area to look more open. if not white pale yellow or green walls and a white ceiling. instead of a big couch go with a love seat and one recliner and a coffee table with an end table at the opposite end of where you put the recliner. soft pastel corner pillows or a throw you like ver the back of the chair. Hard floors with a very soft area rug. in you room if that is small you could get a futon are single bed. get one of those beds in a bag deal you normally can get a better deal than if you buy everything on it's own and you can get almost any fabric color you want, then go from there. Do the windows with soft flowing curtains no blinds pain in the but to clean and they look like they belong in a doctors office. if you want to give your room the allusion of being bigger than it is get one of those dressing screens and put it in a corner. on the bed I would get big cushy pillows of different styles to go with your color scheme. Just keep it light and don't over do it if you do it will seem cluttered and not at all inviting. have flowers in vases a couple of house plants just not to much. Just most important have fun do what will make you comfortable. have fun and good luck
