I am a female . . .17 years old 5'6 and i weigh 160 pounds.
No matter what i do i just seem to gain more weight. . . .even when i'm trying my hardest . . the numbers on the scale go up.
I used to never worry about this problem. I used to skateboard all the time and i had an awesome body. . . .but now i don't skate as much and i've been gaining weight rapidly.
Over this summer i've put on almost 50 pounds and its not stopping. . . . . . i'm so depressed about it that i'm litterally thinking of starving myself. It seems theres something wrong with my body or something that prevents me from losing the weight.
I really have tried.
Worst of all my boyfriend that i love tells me i'm fat all the time.
What should i do? ?

First, you should dump your boyfriend, what he is doing is called emotional abuse. Second, you should start a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, lean protein, and grains. Eat six small meals throughout the day and exercise at least three to four times a week. The best kind of exercise for staying at a healthy weight is cardio - thirty minutes to forty five minutes of walking, running, jogging, or riding a bike. Get back into skateboarding! That is great exercise.

starving your self will only make things worse, once you start eating you body will turn everything into fat, causing you to gain more weight and the more often you do this the harder it is to lose weight each time. If your boyfriend tells you that all the time then he really does not love you. Have your parents ask your Dr. for a weight loss plan. Weight Watchers is a good plan and if you are rapidly gaining weight and have not been eating more there could be a medical problem causing this. Get active doing something again..

What you are experiencing is pretty normal. It's called adolescence. You're hormones are a bit out of control at this stage and you will tend to gain weight. Exercise will not only help you lose weight but also help you to feel better about yourself. It's a very healthy way to socialize and bond with your peers (and it also relieves depression).

As for the boyfriend you continually puts you down, I'd say "goodbye". I guarantee that once you start feeling better about yourself, you'll attract a guy who is interested in the real you. He is definitely out there. Good luck!

Starving yourself will simply hollow out the shell you think you are. Start by getting back into activities like skateboarding that you enjoy for one. Lay off the McDonald's, Taco Bell and liters of Mountain Dew for another.

Here's the deal. If you hate yourself, you don't care what you eat and have no energy. With no energy, you feel bummed and hate yourself even more. It takes courage to DO SOMETHING about your life and make changes. If you don't love yourself, nobody else will.

Did you drink a lot of alcohol over the summer? Alcohol turns to pure sugar in the system and puts the weight on a person's body very very fast. If not, tell your mom you need to have your thyroid checked. If it checks out fine, it's time to examine your diet. Cut fast food out 100%, just let it go!

Oh dear, I feel your pain. The best way to lose weight is not to starve yourself. I also too starved myself to lose weight... however it turned out the opposite! I started to gain more and my metabolism started to get slower. What I recommend is to take yoga lessons, or even just buy a yoga video. Although yoga takes time to actually work, it is the healthiest and most affective way to lose weight; :)

Eeesh! gaining weight so fast does horrible things to your body, it isn't as bad if you have weighed that much most of your life and slowly gain weight, but to gain it so fast is horrible! You can lose weight if you just set your mind to it. start skatboarding again and eat less more healthy foods. you could have a rare condition of early menopause which cuts your metabolic rate in half and even more after that. check with your doctor. if there is nothing wrong with your body just eat less and try to do things more.

Eat regularly and well, only healthy foods. Starving yourself will only slow your metabolism further. Introduce regular exercise into your life and do something about your self esteem. What are you doing letting your boyfriend make comments about your weight? If he loves you he should love you as you are, not only as he wants you to be.
