All the time, and Hubby doesn't always make getting out of the house alone any easier. And when I do get out alone to do something for myself, I will find myself rushing to get back home as soon as I am done as if I'm late for something.

No I never did, I worked fulltime outside the home and when I was home I was a hands on mom. Twice a month I took "Me" time and it was well earned. I wasn't the only parent my child had and her father was capeable of keeping an eye on her while I took a break. If he wasn't around I would call one of the neighbors because we all had kids around the same ages, we all worked and we all needed a break a couple times a month. So we would trade off watching one another's kids. There is nothing to feel guilty about. If mom doesn't get her rest the entire family suffers...

Never! I have 5 kids and I need my ME time. I look forward to it and it makes me less cranky when I take care of the kids. Every Mom should have me time and not feel guilty about it. Even if it is only for 45 minutes a day until you get used to it and then maybe you can make it an hour. You need your time also!

I'm a stay at home mom, and still feel guilty about wanting some ME time every once in a while.
I think it's just a mom thing.

Yes and no. I am a stay at home mom and I give anything for a moment to be alone. It's ok to do that though. We are still people too! Parenting is difficult. Try to plan for a night out or an afternoon even, once a week. It doesn't always work out that way, but you need it. Even if you use the time to do something like grocery shop or go get diapers. I take every moment I can get! I love my kids dearly, but I need to keep my head level to take care of them.

Yea, I think all moms do, but you have to remember that you're a real person, not just a mom, and everyone needs time for themselves. Just think of this when you feel guilty, if you are stressed out, you may take it out on your kids and that's a whole lot worse then having some "me" time. As long as you take care of them and spend quality time with them, then you have no reason to feel bad.

I used to feel real guilty, mostly because my husband would make me feel real guilty about it, still does. What I've learned is that if I don't have that me time then everyone else suffers for it along with me. I get cranky and not nice to be around. So what's better, taking the small amount of time for myself or making everybody miserable?

I definitely want *me* time occasionally, but I don't feel guilty about it! I love my family and take good care of them. My boyfriend has *me* time, my daughter has *me* time (most of her time is me time!), and I deserve it too. And I get it - daddy will get up early with our daughter sometimes so I can sleep in, or my mom will watch her so I can go shopping or rest. I spend most of my day taking care of other people at home and as a doula, and I need alone time to be good at taking care of people.
When I first had my baby and I was exhausted and stressed out, my boyfriend said to me "It's important to be a good mommy, but also important to be a responsible owner of a human body by not putting it through unecessary stress." I guess that's why I love him so much!
Don't feel guilty about taking time for yourself! It's irresponsible!

YES!!!! I have an 11 month old son and I love him to death but sometimes I just have to have me time or me and husband time and we send him to his grandma's. Then a litlle later on I will get to thinking that I feel bad he's gone and not spending time with me and I get to feeling bad like I am trying to pawn him off on someone else. But we all do need ME time so don't feel bad girl and I am going to try and do the same, lol.
