I got a new computer about a year ago, and with it of course came microsoft office. well, i wasn't needing the program at that point, so i kept the disc and hrew away the box.

that had the activation key on it.

so now i'm sitting here with no way to register my copy of Office 2003, and i called Microsoft for help, but they said i was supposed to call HP. They said to call microsoft....AHHH! i need help. any idea what i should do?!?!?

I had the same issue with my windows XP disc.... now it's completely worthless.

I think the only thing you can do here is learn from your mistake.
Sorry :(

If the software came with your computer, it is considered to be OEM and Microsoft will refuse to assist. If HP can't provide the key for you, you should find out if it is installed on the restore disk with the key in it. If it is, you may be able to restore it from there.
