It will take 4 years of college (pre-med), 4 years of med school, 2 years of internship, 2 years of residency, and then a fellowship. You will actually start working after med school, but will be a resident etc.. After completing this, then you can go into private practice. Good luck, it's never too late.

You've got lots of great answers already and I won't repeat what they've said. Except to say that it's never too late for you to chase after and obtain your dreams. If you want to be a Dr.... Go for it!! Heck, the fact that you are at your current age.... you just might make a better one than most! You will take your lessons more seriously and learn more..... Oh! No, it's never to late but you need to go to college for a lot of years to become a Dr. I think around 6 years.

Heavens girl, of course it's not too late. Get movin, you have lots of time to follow your dream. The average woman lives to be in her 80's, I would say you have a good 60 years left!

I dont know about how long it will take but it is never too late, u are young and it will be worth it in the long run, im 40 and just got my RN degree this past may, believe me i love my job and it was well worth it! go for it!!!!
