why is it important as a nurse to have a good memory?

The answer is obvious: human lives depend on the nurse's carrying out doctor's orders correctly. If they're having memory problems....who do you think is going to suffer?

nurses are issued with many directions from staff and doctors in short spaces of time and these directions need to be carried out in sequence and or priority. If that doesn't require a top memory then I don't know what does.

That's easy. Take me for example. I am a male nurse at the Greater Regional Hospital. I use my memory too...umm...I use it too...I'll have to get back to you later. I can't remember right now.

Because it'd b pretty bad if u stopped breathing and the nurse goes "doh, I forget how to do cpr!".

What a dumb question! They need good memories so they can do their jobs well and so they don't kill anyone!

cause if she weighs u and say u weigh 122 pounds and the next day she forgets and she says 234 then thats a problem

because consistantly so much information is being thrown out at you, and if you are taking care of several patients at once then you neee to be able to remember what time each of your patients needs meds, etc.
