Ok so first of all you need to realize that this is a lot of tedious and precise work and if it is done incorrectly then you will basically mess up your whole rear end so im hoping you have very good mechanic experience before even trying to think you can attempt this in a driveway.

With that said you would want a locker and there are a lot of places that sell them like quadratec.com and 4wd.com these are strictly jeep accessories websites so you will definitely find what you need and if you need any help you can always call them up because they have great knowledge about their products.

Now on to the locker. Depending on what type of locker you want (air actuated, electric, cable, or full time) its going to cost different amounts. probably the most expensive is going to be your air locker because it requires a air compressor to work which adds to the cost. The cheapest is the full time but it makes a lot of popping noises when you turn because of it disengaging itself. but the quietest and best in my opinion is the electric locker. its not too expensive but yet when not using the full lock some work as limited slip which is good. but from what you stated in the question your choice is probably going to be the full time locker which if you get one get a Detroit locker they are bomb proof my bro blew up his axle and the locker got damaged but any other locker would have been in pieces where as this one was in one piece and could have probably still been used if redone.

You can have a locker put in but make sure it isn't a full time locker.Do a little research on lockers and figure out what you want.
