Today we were outside and this guy started talking about Love and he mentioned to my crush that I like him and he was like "shut up" in an annoyed sorta tone...is that good or bad? He hugged me 2 weeks ago cuz I got him this very thoughtful present...if it counts!

He's irritated because his feelings towards you are private and it may spook u out if he confesses to his friend and word got out to you.
He may be afraid he would lose even the friendship if u found out that he likes you so he doesnt want to take any risk.
If he doesnt like you, he would probably just deny it and not ask his friend to shut up.
So it's good, tell him u like him and see how it goes :)

Yeah, he was probably just acting annoyed. He was, under the circumstances you've described, embarased. Guy aren't into the whole admitting feelings thing.
