How close did you get to them? They may be faeces from a rabbit or similar sized animal but as they seem to occur mostly around the dog poo I suspect they are of insect origin (most animals find poo unpleasant and are not going to go and poo on some other animals poo). There are lots of bugs that as babies feed on crap after all all how do think dung beetles their name? They could be pupae stage of large insects such as blow flys but I am actually suspecting that they are in fact adult dung beetles that have been raiding the dog poo. It may be that your dog has a flea collar or you used some of that squirt on flea stuff that gets into the blood supply and if so traces of it would be in the doggy poo and probably high enough levels to kill off the beetles that are scavenging the poo. The other option is pupae of something like blow flys but the size of a raisin would exclude blowfly maggots so I think beetles are once again hot favourite so far as the insect world go.
Sorry couldn't be of more help.
Without a photo its just a guess but it really doesn't sound like animal poo.

An animal like a rabbit would not defecate around the poop of a predator animal so I don't think it's possible. You could take a closer look. You may have dung beatles which roll up dung to be transported away. Or it could be some insects what gather undergound, attracted by the dung and push up balls of dirt etc etc. But this does sound very interesting. I've not heard of an animal that lays such obvious eggs around the poop of another animal. Insects normally lay tiny eggs in the poop.

Sounds like you have a wild rabbit around your yard. By the description I wouldn't be afraid to bet on it. They have dropping that are the size of raisins. You could set a live trap out there and find out for sure. Just put in some greens of some kind in the trap and when it goes in to eat it will just close the cage and won't hurt the rabbit. Good luck.
