Although Windows ME was a very good idea, it fell short on stability. It was the Windows XP of the 9x line of Windows. It was, unfortunately, rushed. I touted ME for years in the early days of XP because it was no better than XP, and was cheaper. But, it crashed and froze on regular occasion, and didn't seem to be as compatible as it should have been.

That os crashed so much, I think it had like an anvil or something tied to it.
