Can a Christian smoke a tobacco pipe if he does not inhale?

I enjoy my pipe 2-3 times a week. I don't inhale, and smoke outside so nobody gets second hand smoke.

I also smoke a pipe, and am christian. To the people who say its not worth it if you don't inhale, your not supposed to inhale pipe smoke. It is supposed to be tasted and let out. I myself am not additicted to smoking a pipe, I can go weeks without smoking. It's just a hobby. Oh and when I was a kid, one of the priest's was a pipe smoker.

Yes. Smoking is not wrong in and of itself. Being addicted to something is wrong. Some Christians would argue that smoking and drinking gives the appearance of evil - so if you are a Christian smoking around a rookie Christian, I would use more discretion and be sure not to send the wrong message.

A Christan could inhale. What commandment would you consider this breaking but perhaps a sin of conscience? In which case don't smoke.

You are defiling your body when you smoke, even when pretend smoking. The chemicals are very harmful. Also, since defiling your body is a sin, then eating meat is also a sin. Eating meat is not a sin if vegetation is not sufficient to sustain your body's health.

Don't pick and choose rules. You don't even need the rules because they will end up contributing to you making bad decisions for various different situations. Do what you know is morally right and learn from your mistakes.

I don't understand... what is the point of smoking if you don't inhale? Now, don't get me wrong, I don't smoke and I never plan to, but it seems as though it's a waste of time.

Smoking a pipe will not send you to hell.

I once smoked a pipe too, but emphysema changed all that.
That was 15 years ago, and my lungs are fine now.

Say hello to mouth cancer! It would make sense that if you really believe that your body is God's temple, then you would want to take better care of it. Hey, you only have one body right? Stay away from tobacco products. Even though, pipe tobacco does smell good.

I don't see the point to smoking if you don't. If you are saying it just goes in your mouth but you don't inhale, would you chew tobacco but not swallow and call it okay?

I'm a Christian tobacco pipe smoker for 20+ yrs, still saved, praise Jesus! Just ask forgiveness before, during and after every puff.
