Hi Tamara, I don't think there is any thing wrong with wanting to feel that special feeling we get when we like someone and they like us. However, if you are wanting that because you are feeling lonely, or you feel like you have no purpose in life, then you are using "love" to fill a void that should be filled by other things. Love should not be a substitute for something else that is hurting/missing in your life. Are you going out with friends? Do you have a special girl friend you hang with? Are you pursuing interests and hobbies? Do you have goals and ambitions? If you don't have these things going for you, than you would be helping yourself to get some of these things going in your life. How would you feel if a guy had no ambitions or goals, and was lonely and wanted you to be a replacement for these things? It doesn't make for a good relationship and wont last. It makes for a co-dependent relationship which usually has allot of control and jealousy problems. I may be totally off base, but, if I'm right, it may be good for you to take care of some of these areas before getting involved seriously. Hope this helps. :)

Tamara there's nothing wrong with wanting to fall in love, everybody needs somebody, but you want it to be the right somebody to love and to love you.
I was alone for nine years, didn't think I was ever going to meet anyone and was destined to be alone, mind you, my standards were apparantly set too high, but hey I'm worth it. You only go around once, supposedly, so why not be happy with what you want and not settle.
Anyhow, I just recently met someone after all those years, and so far so good.
Cross your fingers for me.
You have to kiss alot of frogs? and I mean alot, before you meet your prince.
Sorry about all the cliches, but patience is a virtue.
All good things come to those who wait. Please don't settle.

sweetie, some great guy who loves you more than the world will come along, and you'll love him back. Just hang tight, and really be carful of "falling in love with falling in love" if you know what I mean. That means make sure you're thrilled about your man, not just the idea of having the relashionship. When the time is right, the time is right. God bless you and good luck :)

I think it is normal, especially at 18. I spent too long with girlfriends that were wrong for me because I wanted to be in love.
I was 19 and frustrated, and decided not to look for love when I accidentally met a girl that I have now been with for 5 years, and we're getting married in June. It's funny how that stuff happens.

I remember being 18, and I remember how much this sucks to hear, but... honey, you're only 18, even if experience has aged your soul. You have plenty of time and love will find you. It is totally normal to be lonely and want love, but be patient. It will come!

it's normal to want to love and be loved in return..everyone falls in love at THEIR own time..don't worry though you'll have your turn, and you'll know when its real..honestly its better that your 18 because i was younger than you when i fell in love and now its a lot harder because i know now what it takes to really love
