Do you have any intention of working anytime in the near future? Any kind of facial piercing (or visible tatoo) will affect your hirability rating.
Sure some Indie-type busnisses might hire a cute woman with a subtle nose piercing, but a full on cattle grab isn't going to pass the muster for most.
I suggest you rethink your plans for such a negative-thought-provoking piercing. To me, they've always looked like snot is hanging out their noses, having seen so many here in grunge central Seattle.
At the same time, I love seeing the upper ear pierced by several rings. It's not something I would do, but it looks cool when attached to an Indie and not a valley girl.

it will depend on where you are, in some places you can have it done with a parents consent so you could just bug the hell out of them. i got mine done when i was 18 or so, and i love it to pieces. i wore a ring for a year or two then i found an excellant big spike that stick right through and i love that more than i did the ring. i hope you love yours as much as i loved mine. ps. it hurt but only a little bit and then it just stings if you play with it a lot. and it doesnt heal up so you can take it out and put it back in.(if you get it done through the cartalidge) ...enjoy.

In most states you need to be 18 to get any piercing or tattoo without a parent's consent

most tattoo shops require you to be eighteen or have a parent present if you are younger.
