Well, sometimes there are no signs. If you know the person well enough, you will just know. The slightest inflection of voice that isn't noticible by most is legible by the few. Sometimes, the person is just good at lying.

Cant stand still, fidgeting. Wont look you in the eyes. Has a hard time talkin to you. Unless this person is good at lying they might give off alittle smirk while talking.

Lack of eye contact, too much eye contact, arms crossed (sometimes)... I've found common sense and gut feelings to be more reliable though. Your subconscious picks up on the smallest differences in behavior and interprets it for you. Actions really do speak louder than words. Trust your own judgement. I learned that the hard way in a past relationship. If you don't trust your own judgement you will blind yourself to the truth.

They're vague about the facts and they're completely defensive when you ask questions. In a normal conversation, you'd ask questions or add commentary, but when someone is lying, they take your input as the Third Degree.

Blinking a lot, stuttering, not being able to keep their story straight, dry throat, not looking you in the eye
