Find and read several articles on potty training, and talk to other parents about how they did it. It takes time and patience.

encourage her to use a potty chair and if she "performs" give her a treat. When she starts keeping her diapers dry during the day and is interested in the potty, take away her diapers and put her in underpants NO PULL-UPS!!!!!!!!!!!

Allow her up to three accidents and after the third put her back in diapers and try again the next day. Stay positive and be prepared for a little mess for a week or two but you will be forever out of diapers during the day.

Pull ups are good for night time and that is it. They are nothing but a waste of money and your child will be in them forever.

well one she is never "suppoosed" to give up dipers she will when she is ready. well anyway my daughter is 3 and gave up diapeers about 6 months ago. She always wanted to be a "big girl" so I told her big girls dont wear diapers. I also got her a small colerful baby potty. She loves pink and powder blue so I got her a pink and powder blue one. I went to different stores with her and got a bunch of little toys such as a whistle, fuzzy hat, bouncy ball, yo yo's, play do, princesdolls, dora socks, cinderella fake makup, teddy bares, then I got her a barbie t.v.
each time she used the potty she got the littlest toy then she cept on going and each time shegot a different toy untill finally she loved her potty so I gave her the t.v. I also put a chart on the bathroom door with ten spaces and each of the spaces were ontop of a letter in the word diaper no no. each time she went poo poo or pee pee in her diper I put an X in one of the spaces. and if she used all of the spaces i take away the last toy I gave her. She only got 3 X's and finally she got the t.v. Your final gift doesn't have to be THAT big it could just be a computer game or board game. I hope I helped

How do you know she's supposed to give up diapers soon?

A person's waste elimination is a private, personal matter, related in large measure to control of a few muscles that don't become controllable because someone's written up a schedule that she's supposed to give up diapers soon.

Is this strange way of putting it an indication that she is being raised in day care and that she is to soon be taken away from her latest mother substitute and moved up to another class and no one really cares when that's good for her and they just want to push her through this system on a conveyor belt until at the end they push out a kid who has never had solid mothering, has attachment disorders because of multiple and frequently changing caregivers, is depressed, anxious and intellectually stunted because she was raised in an institution?

I know no one would thinkingly do such a terrible thing to their child.

They sell really cool training pants at coles. They are called pull ups. They look like undies but are absorbant like nappies incase of accidents. A good trick is to take her to the toilet just before bed time that way the chance of an accident is less. Then use the pull ups and tuck her into bed. No water or milk before bed otherwise you know what happens. Dont try and rush it. It will just come naturally after some practice. Be sure to use lots of praise when she takes herself to the toilet and don't make a huge fuss over mistakes. Hope this helps

Once she is able to stay dry a little in the daytime, get her some really pretty "big girl" underpants.

Try to get her to use the potty at least every two hours --more often if she is drinking a lot. Praise her for keeping her pants dry.

first of all a 2 year old is not a baby, you have to treat her like she is older than that if you want her to potty train. she will pick up on the fact that you call her a baby, and will refuse to because she believes she is a baby!

ok. first she has to be ready and not afraid. my son is 2 and half he has ben trained sense he turned2. that has mostly luck. buy her charcter panties. also that plastic potty chair can be kinda gross i used a seat that goes on top of the real seat it makes them feel big. also use stickers as a reward(not to much candy though). also don't yell or spank her she will catch on just have faith in her and give praise when she goes

she is not "supposed" to do anything.

her body knows when it's time to be potty trained. children who are forced into it usually have more accidents and self esteem issues because their bodies just aren't ready to control their functions!!!

my daughter was a week away from 3 years old before she was potty trained. she came to me and said "i wear big girl panties now" and that was it. no accidents...no training, nothing.

i taught preschool for years, i saw that parents who pushed their kids and teased their kids into potty training too early made their kids have issues with potty things and self esteem.

let her decide when it's time. she'll do it. no one is in diapers forever...and don't listen to what people say. my mom pushed me all the time to potty train her. but hey, i knew that my daughter would know when it was time.

good luck!
