Oh my! I hope I am not offending you but your question is the first that I see today and guess what...
My 16 year old student just asked me the same question yesterday!
I didn't give him an answer though.
Love is something that you know when it is there. It is so magical that there is no words that can be used to explain. When you are in love with someone, you'll have him or her on your mind all the time. Plus, you will compromise all his or her faults or shortcommings and accept him or her readily.

You know that you are falling in love when you start feeling that this person can be your other half and he\she completes you. Don not confuse it with lust because you will only get hurt in the end. Make sure the feelings are true for both parties involved. You can feel like you love someone but can be lusting for the love. After a year or so and you still have the same feelings about that person then you may be feeling love. Some people say they fall in love in a short period of time but you need to get to know the person and find out everything there is to know.

I guess this question can be answered in a thousand ways and because love is constantly in motion (it is always growing and changing) there will never be one way to answer.
I would say that you know you are experiencing love when you feel that your senses are heightened and you feel that you are growing and experiencing things like never before. Love is very generous, forgiving, kind, and wonderful and when you're experiencing it, you feel as if you're at your peak. But, truth be told, it's not always such a rush, love is also very accepting of the good and bad.

Now this is only my opinion...You know it's love, when you can see yourself with that person for the rest of your life to grow old with!! They are all you think about day in and day out, you get butterflies in the pit of your stomach when they come around. Now everyone is different, and may feel love in a totally different manner, but the only other thing I can tell you, is YOU WILL KNOW!!

love is the feeling of being eternally wanted and comforted. When i'm with the guy i love i feel so safe and happy and warm and secure. i feel like nothing could harm me at the moment, even if he's just standing behind me. love lets you open your heart to someone close who can understand and accept you for who you are. that person would never judge you or expect you to be someone your not. sure, i admit that love is dangerous, but once you pass the danger...everything is perfect. you would never feel alone with the person you love opposed to being in a room with people you like and feeling like something's missing. love is when u value and like a person for who they are not what u think they are. u can tell if u're constantly daydreaming bout the person or talking bout him, looking at him, but sometimes you can't tell that u r in love until the end

depends on the individuals.. everyone reacts to "love" or an attraction to another person differently.. the key is to see how your "other" treats other people, and how he/she treats you.. smiling alot.. touchy feely.. laughing for nearly no reason.. butterflies in the stomach.. nervousness when that other is around.. anything that seems unsual when your "other" is around..and excessive conversation that seem to have no real point.. and thinking about that person randomly and/or at unusual times.. all these things usually indicate some attraction...best of luck=)

Love is just something you feel. It's not something you can really tell if it is happening to you. The only way that you can really know if you are in love is if it gets tested, such as problems that occur and dealing with different situations.

You'll do stupid things like watching the other person sleep and do nothing for hours as long as you get to spend time with that person. You'll be all warm around them. You'll know because it's the strongest, most powerful feeling.

Love is when u will sacrifice yourself for that person and u can't picture your life without them. U know its happening to u when u can't eat, can't sleep, u feel like u could kiss the sky and nothing else matters but u and him.
