Well, what you are doing there is playing hard to get. This works all the time but it is also dangrous, it can give him the wrong Idea that you dont like him. So play hard to get but make sure you dont go over board beacuse if you do , you will regret it...Well, when your friend asked him and he said yes,, then i think you should get his number and talk to him,,,and forget playing hard to get but if you want to have fun....then well play hard to get :) BE CAREFUL
