Ecuador- in the jungle along the Amazon river. About 8 hours away from Quito. There are amazing natural hot springs there and the scenery is practically untouched by mankind. There are also plenty of monkeys and the hugest butterflies you'll ever see. The trees and mountains are also extraordinarily beautiful. There are also lots of swinging wood bridges over waterfalls that you can climb upon. It is one of the most serene places I've ever been too. Not to mention the cheapest. You can also tube down the Amazon river. We did that. My family went there on a mission trip and did not want to leave. The only way we could reach the villages in the jungle was to canoe down the Amazon River.

Cancun, Mexico.
I was there a week before spring break and it was great.
The town was ready to recieve the college kids, but it was still calm.
The people were very friendly and the US dollar still goes far.
The waters down there are fantastic, so clear and warm. Great snorkling.
It's a short drive to get off the beaten path and into the interior to see the ruins.
I will be going back sometime soon.

Hawaii, the reason is it was the summer I graduated high school, I stayed with relatives who live there, so I only had to pay for airfare, I wasn't considered a tourist and were able to see spots not on the "tours" I stayed a month, then went back the following year for 10 days. It was wonderful and I felt completely free of responsibility.

We were in Panama Beach Florida this summer and while it was OK it was very touristy but we took a day trip to Shell Island which has nothing on it but seashells and the most beautiful water!
Anyway, that's about it for me. I hope I have many travel adventures ahead because I haven't had too many yet.
We also visited the coast of Oregon a few years back and that was awesome.

Fraser Island- Australia. Beautiful, natural, unspoiled. You cant swim at the beach becaue there are sting rays and sharks, there are also dingoes....Whitsundays are beautiful- a collection of Islands off the coast of Airlie Beach. They are beautiful, white sand, blue water, snorkelling- more expensive and not for the naturalist. You cannot beat the Great Barrier Reef, BEAUTIFUL!!, snorkel and see-tropical fish, pretty coral, a shark or two, just get there soon- may not be there too long if current pollution continues.

Budapest. I went there with my best girlfriend and felt kind of unenthusiastic when planning the trip. Like, blah, why there in the dead of winter? It was BITTER cold that week, our maps and books sucked, and we were both jet lagged and tired. We couldn't find our hotel, and when we did it was the most unbelievable dump. We went out to a few bars, and saw old drunks passing out from cheap liquor. We went to what we thought was "the big castle" and it turned out to be some random, sucky museum. But we saw some unbelievably beautiful winter scenes, one of which is a picture of us displayed on my mantel. We laughed our asses off the whole time, cool... And my visa bill was way bad when I got home. But worth it.

Fernando Noronha, an island near the northeastern coast of Brazil. took a four-day cruise there on the Pacific, formerly known as the Love Boat! Due to careful ecological policing, there are never more than 1,000 people on the island. here is the official web site:

Alaskan Cruise - absolutely one of the world's paradises. I have always been intrigued by the State and wanted to learn more about its history, the Gold Rush, the people (some 6 Indian tribes), and jewels (amber). I was so impressed by the State and its people, that I plan to retire there.
Great Question!
