One of the problems with being overweight is that the fat itself triggers your brain to eat. Isn't that weird? So that fatter you are, the more you want to eat, the fatter you get... and it's a vicious cycle.

The only thing to do is to try to cut back a little on what you eat while trying to increase your physical activity.

Everyone always wants a magic cure for weight gain, but there isn't any. The best way is still to watch what you eat and exercise.

Been there, done that!

I am almost in the same situation as you .... i weigh 230 and am 5'5. I am addicted to food, can eat snack right after I eat supper and I always have room for chocolate or cookies. I am trying my best (as of this morning) to eat healthy, stop eating after 8 p.m. (or at least two hours before you go to sleep) and to drink a lot of water. But it's tough. I also go to Curves (a gym that is just for women). I find if I eat supper at 7:00 and then drink tea after 8 I am usually fine! Also walking always helps!! Hope I am of some help!

I also was a bit over weight at one time,I consulted with my doctor and he helped me to obtain my ideal weight.Yes,I was on a prescription diet pill mainly to get me started once the weight started coming off I had more energy,therfore I was not sitting around getting bored & going to the cabinet or refrigerator for something to snack on.Now I eat what I want to(I just eat smaller portions).When I feel hungry I drink an 8 oz. glass of water & that really does curb the ol' appetite.I turned my husbands building into a gym and I exercise regularly.You may want to start a new hobby,something that is time consuming or just anything that will keep you occupied.It is hard at first but I promise you it will get easier & easier as time goes by.I am now working with my 8 year old who has a weight problem this is hard too,but I think we will be o.k.Consult with your doctor & wish you lots of luck!!!

yeah i had the same prob...my first year away from home i ate everything in sight, hungry or not...here are some ways that helped me get control over my eating habits;
1. stay active- exercise it will help you lose the extra weight too and speed up your metabolism.
2. stay busy- meaning try to always be doing something...for me i eat when I'm bored so if i have something to do then i will only eat when my body tells me that i am really hungry.
3. try some kind of diet pill with hoodia- it is a gr8 apatite suppressant and comes from a cactus so i guess you could call it natural.

Just find a hobby.....goin to the mall, takin walks... roller skating, hangin out with a friend.....anything that will take ur mind off of food. And if ur eating things that are highin fat and calories substitute it for things that are lower in fat. If you dont want to change what you're eating, then you dont have to, just eat smaller portions, and always have a bottle of water. Extra activities are a good idea too.

The most common cause of the problem is being bored. you have nothing to do so you eat. but if thats not it, then go to a local nutrition store and ask them for somethign that will curb your appetitte. Web MD and your Dr are great resources for this type of question

Start working out. It will help you loose weight and will suppress your hunger. Try not and watch as much TV. Get out of the house and find a hobby.
The most important thing to do is to exercise.
