Nope, sometimes people only say they think you have a nice house to patronize you, and no one wants to be patronized!

NO, because some people don't want to compliment even if they feel the house is nice. They don't want to make you happy. As long as you know your house is nice, be confident that that is what they feel too even if they don't say it. Not everyone is generous with compliments.

I've never - ever had anyone come here that didn't say WOW.

I suppose if someone was NOT impressed by this place... I'd not feel bad at all because - it would indicate how CLUELESS they are.

This IS a great place. The design is stunning - the decor is wonderful. The play room has a bunch of cool games and stuff in it... the bar is well stocked. Only an idiot would NOT be impressed.

No, I don't because the decor I like may not appeal to the other person. The fact that you feel bad suggests that you're insecure and need some reassurance.

When you need the compliment, you're saying that the other person's opinion is valuable, which it may not be. People with bad taste don't necesarily recognize that your taste is better. They just want to see the same items and decor that they value.

Moreover, there are people with excellent taste, but I would never decorate my house like theirs. Pictures and colors are very personal.

You really shouldn't care what people think. It's your house, and you are the only person who ultimately needs to be comfortable with it.

No - someone should not feel the need to comment on a household. It's always nice if they say they like or love your place, but you may not share the same taste for decorating. They should be appreciative of spending time with you dining or whatever though.

It would be nice if that happened. Especially since I take pride in my home.It does'nt bother me though.I get alot of compliments after the fact like in phone conversations and thats nice.Usually my company and I are busy enjoying EACH OTHER for me to think "I'm not getting complimented."

no! I keep a clean house! and its nice! but why would the compliment matter if you know your house is fit for you and only you, not them! its your castle!
compliments does'nt matter! What do matter is when you stay in a big house and some one with a even bigger house act snobby!
