Yes, Moses was Hebrew.

Moses was born a Jew and was raised by Egyptians. When he found out he was a Jew, he left Pharaoh and was banished by the Egyptian empire for killing an Egyptian. Moses was defending a Jewish slave who was being beaten by an Egyptian.

He then encounters the burning bush (God) and He begins the task of delivering the Jewish slaves from Egypt.

Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible.

These books, called the “Torah” is often restricted to signify the first five books of the Old Testament, also called the Law or the Pentateuch.

No. The word "Jew" comes from Judah. Moses was a Levite.

In response to dooltaz, yes I know that the modern Jews come from the twelve tribes of Israel, including the Tribe of Levi. If the question was, "Is Moses an Israelite", the answer would be "yes". But the word "Jew" is an anachronism that developed after the northern kingdom was destroyed. The remaining Israelites were Judaeans, hence "Jews". Since Moses lived long before these events, He couldn't have been a Jew.

Moses was a Jew. He was born of a Jewish Family, and according to the bible He was raised by non-jews, and then the whole exodus thing.
Exodus 2:1 - Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, 2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months.

Levi was one of the tribes of Israel, who were the original Jewish people.

Yes, he was a Jew indeed. He was raised in Pharaoh's house while his family and people were slaves, but only because his mother put him in a basket in the Nile when Pharaoh commanded that all Hebrew baby boys were to be thrown in the Nile. The basket floated to where Pharaoh's daughter was bathing in the river and she decided to take the baby.

moses was not a Jew, he was a Hebrew, which comes from an Egyptian name referring to nomads and wanderers. but if u read in the book to the Hebrews, he is referred to as a faithful witness of God and Jesus Christ. God no longer recognizes or accepts Judaism. this is evidenced by the fact that the temple was never rebuilt. Also once Christ was resurrected, God instituted the new form of worship through the apostles. it even says Jesus ministered to the dead souls for the three days he layed in his tomb. so everyone in creation living and non living had to choose. THE WORD JEW DOSENT EVEN APPEAR IN THE BIBLE UNTIL THE KINGS AND THE CHRONICLES

Yes by faith and heredity. And so is every born again christian a jew by faith and not necessarily by heredity.

Paul writing to the Romans telling gentiles not to write off the jews says this:

Rom 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

Rom 11:19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest he also spare not thee.

Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Rom 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.

Rom 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural [branches], be graffed into their own olive tree?

He is known for 2 things:

1. Freeing people, the Jews, from Egypt
2. Saying "Let my people go!"

Kinda' self explanatory.
