At least see if your baby will accept a NUK or similar design. If not, a SOFT pacifier that would collapse in the mouth is probably just as good. Avoid a firm, round pacifier.

Of my three kids, the one who wouldn't quit sucking her thumb until she was 8 or 10 turned out to have the best bite and best smile of them all - without braces. Lip pressure is an awesome force. Once she actually quit, it was only a matter of a few months before it was obvious that her teeth were being pushed back down where they belonged.

So, take heart. She might not need braces after it is all said and done. I'd start saving, though.

only if the baby continues to keep the pacifier during toddler years
it can cause the child's teeth stick out and could possibly affect the child in older years.

in the experience that they offer up utilising the pacifier early adequate then no. i imagine that 2 years is even as they're meant to be weaned from it. it may basically be an phantasm yet I swear that my daughter's the front accurate tooth were extremely bowed out when we supply up the pacifier at 22 months. some months later they did not seem bowed anymore. So, i wager we weaned in time.

Not if you wean them at a descent age. Most baby's drop the habit there self. Also did you know it is proven to help against SIDs? They say the sucking keeps the baby from falling into a deep sleep thus helping them remember to breath!

Only if they continue to use it when they're a toddler. Just like thumb-sucking and cause your front teeth to grow outward. But as babies they will be fine.
