Same thing here. "Be the first to answer this question!" & by the time I've submitted, there's a whole bunch before me, & then I feel compelled to edit & & &--I think someone said somethng about taking the time for "thoughtful" answers. I betcha it's more that than anything else. & ESPECIALLY if we type fast, we have to check the spelling that just spins round & round. I may wait a little longer until it's got "whiskers." But not too long! People lose interest, including the asker! C'est la vie.....I agree.

Maybe the length of your answers, the speed of your typing, your internet connection or a combination of those.
Here's what you can do to be the first. Click on "answer this question". Just type in "answer coming" and submit it. Then go back to the question and click edit on your answer. Compose your longer answer and submit it. Your answer will then be well thought out AND FIRST !

You get no more points for fast typing than for your slow typing. Be happy.

Maybe it's your internet connection??
Just a thought. Make sure you do a disk clean up after you have been on the internet and also defrag helps too.
