I had this same problem recently and I coughed for three months after a cold, finally went to the doc, and I had bronchitis. took some anti-biotics and all is well again.

Looks like some bacteria are having fun in your lungs. This needs to be checked by your doctor, because you don't seem to be fighting it efficiently by yourself (over 1 month is way too long). You might need antibiotics. Yes you need to get a prescription for that (in US, Canada and most European countries ; in India Amoxillin is sold over the counter)

Don't delay too much, this could become pneumonia and do some damage to your lungs.

Sounds like bronchitis to me....I've killed bronchitis with loads of garlic and onion...you won't get kissed for a few days, but with bronchitis, you shouldn't be kissing anyway! If all else fails, go to the doc and get some antibiotics!

When you go to the doctor insist on a chest X-ray.
