If a supreme being is callously manipulating the death and destruction on earth. At best your role is that of an obedient indentured servant supplicating yourself daily in the possibly vain hope of not being snuffed out.

If I believed that, I might just have to kill myself!

haha I have to agree with that. I can't imagine being a part of something completely based on fear of burning eternally.

A prophet ask an Angel of God, why God created millions of men only to be burn in hell. The angel answered " How many ounces of GOLD can you get in a mountain of soil? Which is most precious, gravel or a gem. Isn't it the one who is few and rare are the most precious one?
Surely God is in control of death and destruction on Earth, so why not submit ourselves to Him, we cannot win anyway. Not just that, it comes with a reward. Is there any other good offer you get from this life?
Christianity is offered to all, but not for everyone. That is why Lord Jesus himself preached in parable so that many people won't understand. True Christianity is for the rare few. Just like the US Navy SEAL, to be a member you have to go through a lot of pain and hardship.
But if you really seek HIM in your heart with meekness and humbleness, you will find Him.

Quite frankly, I don't feel as an indentured servant. I love the Lord!

Unfortunately, by doing that you miss the most important part of Christianity. A slave could kill himself to escape his master, but if a Christian God exists, you'd only be throwing yourself right into his hands by dying.

I have often wondered the same thing and in fact I propose this as a response to Christians who claim atheists have nothing to live for.

Quite the contrary. Unlike those Christians who claim to have free will, atheists actually DO have it!

You are talking about the wrong "supreme being" God only causes harm when put under certain circumstances. The rest is a combination of simple cause and effect and Satan stirring up trouble. God is trying to make the most good he can out of the bad things that happen. God is a person of love, who discarded all of his heavenly power and glory, and then finally died, just so that people like you and me could be saved. We serve him because of his love, not his power.

My life has became so much better since I came to believe, your view is warped and antagonistic, Believers are totally free no matter what. Everybody gets to die one way or another. At least I know where I'm going and that I'm ultimately protected while I'm still here. Non-believers on the other hand are in for one he!! of a surprise!

The Christian life is not about some vain hope of not being snuffed out. It is about God's unconditional Love for us and His gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, His Son.

God loves His creation and does not want us to destroy it with sin. He loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

Disregarding the 10 commandments as valid standards for life situations that He has put in place is total rejection.

When your kids disregard the rules of the house how does that make you feel?

I guess we're just not as smart as you who obviously has it all figured out. I don't believe... I know. But then I searched for God, I sought him out. And through faith I believed, and now I know that truth and it is absolute. God gave me free will as He did you, He allows you to believe whatever you want despite the fact that He could prove His existence to you. Your just afraid of leaping with faith. It's easier to see Christians as "obedient indentured servants". Through God I fear nothing, not even death because I know my soul is secure for eternity, how's your soul doing?
