No. Adding more troops won't solve the problem if the LEADERSHIP in Washington doesn't have a PLAN!!!! This has been the problem with the war in Iraq all along, ...we never devised an exit strategy and now we don't even know ourselves when or if we've won or lost! Sending more troops to Iraq is the equivalent of throwing gasoline on a raging fire. I say we start turning it over to the Iraqis, ...for better or for worse.

No but we also can't pull them out. What would it look like to our allies? Their fighting in the war too and to find out that their just going to leave doesn't help us. We just shouldnt have gotten ourselves into this mess in the first place stupid bush. And quarterback, where do you think were going to find those extra 500,000. I bet if you were a soldier you wouldnt be asking to send 500000 more troops over there.

Only special operations belongs in that red zone !
these senators and congress-people who want more troops in iraq are crazy !
our troops are there try to protect the iraqis in charge, they are trying to protect electric plants and waterways, our troops are rebuilding roads, schools and other infrastructure that was demolished and in ruins for decades, plus our bombs and their bombs don't make clean any easier. This is a dangerous job for everyone in Iraq ! The less USA troops the less targets.

lol. Maybe at a later stage. I believe now is not the right time to put in more troops. We should reduce troops to certain strategic locations and let Iraq deal with their own civil war. And once they settled down, increase troops to help with rebuilding and maintaining order.

Yes
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., wrote in Sunday's Washington Post that boosting troops for an indefinite time was necessary to secure peace in the Mideast.
"When we authorized this war, we accepted the responsibility to make sure they could prevail," he wrote. "Even greater than the costs incurred thus far and in the future are the catastrophic consequences that would ensure from our failure in Iraq."
