I would like to pick up conversational cantonese so I can speak to my in-laws. I am conversant in english and chinese mandarin. Can anyone advice? short of watching cantonese dramas... :)

Conversational cantonese is very difficult to learn and even native Mandarin speakers have weird accents when they speak Cantonese. I think you should learn the basics from a book + tape/cd or something, and then improve by watching cantonese shows or talking with cantonese speakers. There are too many slangs and expressions so it wouldn't be very effective to learn conversational cantonese from a website.

There are two websites that you might find interesting but not very useful because the phrases and words are limited.
