Help. I have been in about 4 long term relationships, and can't say I have ever loved anyone. I have a hard time saying "I love you" to anyone, even my Mom. Am I messed up?

nah, its just tougher for some people. you just have to work at it, but don't go around saying it to everyone of course unless u actually love them.

You're having a hard time telling your mom that you love her? Do you remember being told as a child that you are loved?
Is your mom the same way or she's totally different? What about your dad? If neither one has this issue, then you're the one with problems.

Do you have a pet? Practice saying it to your pet. It will become easier for you.

Don't say the word just to please someone - say it because you mean it. I don't believe you're in love with any of them.

Good luck!

as far as not wanting to say i love you to people you are in a relationship with does not make you messed up just cautious which is a great thing...as far as not being comforable with saying i love you to your mom that makes you messed up.....you obviously have not found love in a relationship yet dont let it bring you down cause most of the time love sucks!!! you will find it one day and hopefully it stays with you forever...dont rush things you can start by TELLING YOUR MOM YOU LOVE HER!!!

Sometimes we let the little things that we don't like about people get in the way of our love for them. It's also true that the people you dated may not have been your type. When it comes to people like your mom, find things you can admire about them. As you grow older, you begin to realize how much your parents have done for you. They would put their life on the line for you, and have, or will have, devoted 21 years of their life to raising you the best way they can. THAT'S love.

love is different for everyone and all i can tell you is that, when you love someone truly love them. you'll know and you'll want to tell that person everyday for the rest of your life. as for your mom that's a different kind of relationship and sometimes it's awkward. so not to worry you're not messed up. just haven't found the right person.

Yes, you are. Seriously. Love is what makes us greater than the rest of the animals. Your paralyzing fear of emotional commitment will stand in the way of much of what life has to offer. You'll find that your brand of happiness is fleeting and can never be satiated, always wanting more of what pleases you. You'll always be one who searches for things, never able stop because you haven't found happiness. You'll never know that happiness can only occur for those who are still.

Other than that, you'll have a great life.

No. I'm the same way. I have a hard time telling people that i love them. the only people i can say that to is my neice and nephew. Every tells me that you'll know when you're in love. I can honestly say i've been in love once but thats about it. But you'll know when you're in love.

Maybe you have a problem with bonding and making that connection? I have always loved my parents and have had a couple serious relationships. When you feel a chemical connection, like your heart beating faster, talk about them incessantly, etc. that is love then. explore your inner feelings and try to convey them, that is bonding.

If you couldn't say it to any of your relationships, I'd say you just picked the wrong partners. But, since you can't even say it to your mom, I'd say you have problems.
