Because retirement homes are crowded and the kids need the inheritance but mainly... it's Gods way of telling us to slow down.

All things fall apart eventually. Including the human body. Human consciousness probably couldn't last much longer even if it could exist without a body. Your body will get recycled by the earth and you'll have nothing to worry about anymore. It can't be any worse than dreamless sleep. Besides, you've spent most of universe's existence not being alive, so you have plenty of practice.

First get your self-realization then you can answer this question. But still if you cannot, I will help you. But the answer is not very short. Be prepaired.
I can only tell you very shortly that the sprit does not die. Only our conditionings, ego and physical body die.

Nothing is permanent. Life is just part of an ongoing cycle, death is not an end, just the beginning of another part of the cycle. Would you really want to live forever? There was a time when I thought I wouldn't mind living forever, then I realized it would drive me mad to know there was no end. The brevity of life is what makes it so precious and gives us goals and reasons to better ourselves!

there is an end to everything that is wondrous, death makes life important, if you lived forever, the importance of life would disappear and the joys of life would not be the joys anymore, you need negative to have positive, you need to have happiness be temporary or you don't ever realize it's value, the same goes for life, life is a long, beautiful road and death is just an inevitable, small end

Good question!
Death is very difficult to understand. People who we love alot, like Grandma and Grandpa get old, get sick, and die.
Someday Mommy will get old, and get sick, and die, too. Daddy will probably die sooner because he smokes and runs around behind Mommy's back.
Even Muppets die. Miss Piggy, Kermit -- they will all die one day.
Little birds die. When I'm feeling EMO and sad, and it's just to expuisite and painful to live, I try to imagine how sad it will be to finally die, and then I take a nap.
Don't you?

Mortality is human (and animal) nature. To be mortal means to suffer. Basically, because humans sinned so much for so long, that we "descended and descended" into these physical, suffering bodies where we have trouble remembering our spiritual immortality. And we became play things between forces of good and evil.

From a purely practical purpose, if we didn't, it would get very crowded on earth. But from a philosophic reason, I think that if we didn't we would go crazy, it seems like each subsequent generation comes up with innovations/customs/morals that seem strange so it's probably merciful that we pass away.

Becuase otherwise we'd have no worries of some afterlife punishment/judgement, and the strongest people would rule the earth on threat of an eternity of beatings.

not enough space on current earth to support immortality, especially in insects and sea gulls
we live, one day at at time, and can choose to die if we want
each day is a gift, use it wisely
