ive never had an issue with talking on the cell phone and driving, maybe its because i am a dirt track race car driver and have a higher skill of driving, but when im on the phone i just make myself that much more aware

You have seen videos of people who are stopped by the police for drunk driving. Some of them are insistant that there was no reason to pull them over because they were driving perfectly. If you were driving perfectly, why did the police notice you to pull you over.
The truth is that you are so self absorbed that you have no idea how you are really driving. Drunks and SOME cell phone users don't even know how they are driving. I have seen several near misses and often the cell phone user has no idea anything even happened.
I got out of my car at a stop light one time and went up to the window of such a car. When I asked the driver if she even saw that she almost hit someone at the last intersection. She didn't even put the phone down when she told me, "Yes, I saw it."
I often see them in my rear view mirror coming up on me as if I was standing still. Then they either get within a car length behind me, at 60 MPH, or right beside me and match my speed so they don't pass.
By the way, I am NOT in the fast lane when this happens and there is no traffic in the fast lane. They could pass if they wanted to, but they don't even realize they are driving. They are on autopilot.
I also commonly see people with the cell phone in their hand having a hard time negotiating a turn or parking. Why not put the phone down for 30 seconds until you finish the turn or are out of heavy traffic? Would that kill you? I'm afraid that your lack of attention might kill me.

I work at Mcdonalds, and constantly have people come through the drive through and tell me to wait to take their order so they can finish their phone conversation, I started telling them when I absolutely know 100% they are talking on the phone to drive around the block until they are finished with their phone call, or to go park in the parking lot (an even better idea) and finish their conversation. Because apparently their conversation about their boyfriend or girlfriend is more important than the line of customers waiting behind them. I have had many close calls being hit on the road by someone talking on their phone. If and when mine rings I either pull over first and then answer it or don't even answer it at all, hey that's why you have voice mail. I also have different ring tones so that if someone important calls me (ie. my brother) I know who it is and automatically pull over and take the call, other than that its just not worth the risk. If its that important they will either leave a message or call back. And if they don't then apparently what they had to say wasn't worth the time of leaving a voicemail.

I was witness to an accident, Blonde in a Pontiac on a cell phone, hit the brakes for no reason, guy behind her did the same, girl behind him did the same, woman behind her, well...didn't. The trail Blazer hit the Tracker, which flew about 15 feet forward and about a foot in the air and into the back of a new pontiac, and the one that caused the accident didn't stop or realize what happened, I pulled over, and the woman that hit and the guy that was hit were ok, but the girl in the Tracker was really shaken up and almost in shock, i stayed with her and made sure she was ok, luckly i have a blanket in my truck. HANG UP YOUR ******* PHONES PEOPLE. a phone call is not worth someones life.
I've been hit a few times by people talking on cellphones. I'm a mechanic and i do a lot of test drives. I had an Audi out and a woman on a cell phone ran a red on a left hand turn, and the car i was in had a brake problem, where the brakes would randomly fail, but one pump of the pedel they were back, if i didn't swerve i would have been hit by her. In my old car i was rear ended in it when some asian kid on a cell phone didn't see my flashes on when my car was stalled, he hit me at about 80km/h and ****** up the front of his car, and then after expected me to pay for his car because i was stopped in an 80 zone. 1)i had my flashers on, 2) I had my car pulled over as far as possible, 3) I was the only other car on the road aside from him on a 3 lane road. I've seen to many people injured because of a ******* cellphone conversation.
a friend of my cousins was killed becasue someone on a cellphone ran a stop sign and t-boned his car on the driver side. big chevy truck vs small toyota car, who is walking away? I don't want to have another friend, family friend, family member, or friend of a friend killed becasue of an asshole talking on a cell phone.
I was reading a report on talking on cell phones when driving. Did you know that you have slower reaction times when talking on a cell phone, then you do when you drive drunk. EVERYONE HANG UP YOUR ******* PHONES AND DRIVE. A LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN A ******* PHONE CALL

Oh! Didn't you know the world revolves around them?! What is wrong with you!!! Once you get a clue and realize that and get out of their way so they can have the whole road to themselves, their lives will be so much easier! Why can't you be considerate of others?! LOL! I'm just being sarcastic here and teasing! I'm on your side for sure!

I drive and talk on the cell phone
it doesn't affect my driving because I pay more attention to the road than I do to the person that I am talking to on the phone.
but... i have some bluetooth thing so it's hands free =p
