It appears to be leaves with slices of apples!? The main piece at the top is an apple, so I do think that the questioned pieces are apple too.

Those are apple slices (hence the apple at the top of the cake)...I had a bride do something similar with another fruit...turned out really great.

if you look closely at the middle tier it looks as though it is just peel - BUT you could go whichever way you wanted to get the effect.
I had a look at that site - some AWESOME cakes there

did you mean the flowers or the dots? The dots on the cake are just green icing. The decorations are leaves, flowers and accent peices with an apple on top.

sliced apples, but they do look like limes, but an apple is on top so it only makes sense to be apple slices
