she has a sore on the outside of her ear that she has had for 3 months but when she shakes her ear it breaks open and bleeds on her head. My boyfriend has looked inside her ears with one of those ear scopes but nothing found, even our local vet said its just a sore on her ear, I dont know if there is something going on in her ear that makes her shake her head or rub her ear causing the sore or is it just the sore on her ear that is itching and she is shaking her head because it itches, Any comments, you can see her on http://hollithesidecardog.com

Usually when a dog shakes their ears it's either they have something in their ear, their ear itches, ear infection or their ears are very hot and can be caused by the above 3 items. If the sore isn't gone after 3 months she needs anti-biotics.

Alot of times this means inner ear infection. But it very well might be that sore. If the sore breaks open from her just shaking her head you need to put some thing on it to keep it moist till it starts to heal.Like triple antibiotic lotion, A and D lotion, Vaseline.. you might look into a cone for her head so she can't scratch at it.

Seek a 2nd opinion from another vet. Your dog is obviously uncomfortable, so something is wrong. Be her best friend and get her to another vet.
